BE 60 Burn Aid

Application

Optimizes the rate of combustion

Binds oil in scented candles

Functional principle

During the candle manufacturing processes, colors, fragrances and additives are normally mixed together in a hot liquid state. Upon cooling, the waxes form a crystalline structure in which the color and fragrance aggregate in the spaces between the crystals.

BE 60 ensures that a homogeneous crystalline structure forms, creating more space for liquid components such as the oil from the wax itself, colors and fragrances to coalesce. Oil and fragrance exudation is reduced, which has a positive effect on the hot and cold fragrance performance.

The homogeneous distribution of color and fragrance in the crystalline structure of the wax results in an improved and consistent burn, measured by the uniform rate of consumption throughout the lifecycle of the candle.

Properties

  • Regulates fragrance hot and cold throw
  • Improves candle surface appearance
  • Effective in low doses
  • Suitable for paraffin, stearin and hydrogenated fats (veg. waxes)

Whitener WW 11 and WW 16

Application

Whitening of yellowish waxes.

Functional principle

Whiteners are additives with an optical effect that work on the basis of color physics. They modify the color reflection spectrum of wax, allowing the yellowish light to be absorbed. This shifts the color shade into the blue area where the human eye perceives it as a white color.

Properties

  • Gives yellowish waxes a significantly whiter appearance.
  • Can be used together with UV absorbers and antioxidants.
  • WW 16 can also be used for stearin and other fatty acid-containing waxes.

We test customers waxes in our laboratory and recommend the best product and its optimal dosage to delivery the best solution.

Whitener WW 20

Application

Whitening (bright white) of yellowish waxes.

Functional principle

WW 20 is a mixture of whiteners and optical brighteners. The optical brightener makes candles appear bright white, significantly whiter than waxes brightened with WW 11 and WW 16.

Properties

  • Imparts yellowish waxes a bright white appearance.
  • Must not be used with UV absorbers
  • Suitable for paraffin, stearin and hydrogenated fats (veg waxes).

We test customers waxes in our laboratory and recommend the best product and its optimal dosage to deliver the best solution.

White - Optical Brighteners

Application

Makes candles appear bright white.

As an additive for overdipped and solid-colored candles.

Functional principle

Optical brighteners absorb ultraviolet light and emit a large part of the absorbed light in the blue spectrum which is visible to the human eye, at a wavelength approximately between 400 and 500 nm. Objects thus appear brighter and whiter.

Properties

Should not be used with UV absorbers.

Opaque White

Application

Often used for carving candles, in order to obtain an opaque, pure white appearance.

Properties

A major component of bekro opaque white is titanium dioxide, an inorganic pigment with a high refractive index. It scatters light very effectively presenting an opaque deep white color. In our production process, as with all bekro pigments, the titanium dioxide is processed until optimal particle size is achieved in order to maximize their color and opacity.

Stabilizers

Light consists of energy waves of different lengths. Prolonged exposure to light will result in the likely degradation of the candle. Protection Chemicals has developed light absorbers and antioxidants products to help protect candles against light and heat degradation.
